Kerry Katona smoked before plastic surgery despite doctors warnings

The former Atomic Kitten singer continued to puff on a cigarette as she drove to have a breast reduction operation and liposuction despite being warned of the dangers by her doctor.

Stephen Hamilton, consultant plastic surgeon, told Kerry that the surgery would interfere with the blood supply to the breasts and there was a risk her nipples could fall off.

He said: "The most common things that can attribute to this risk is smoking, which is why ladies have to stop smoking before this type of surgery, and that you don't start smoking again until the healing process is really quite well established- really we're thinking four to six weeks."

In the hospital she voiced her anxiety to Mark who told her to go ahead with the surgery if she wanted to and said: "I don't want to be sucking your nipple on your toe."

She then said she hated her boobs but was worried about the surgery saying: "Come here, i'll tell you a secret. I didn't stop smoking."

Kerry had £15,000 worth of surgery, which involved reducing her GG breasts to a size E and extensive liposuction. She was on the operating table for more than eight hours while surgeons removed the weight of four bags of sugar in fat, during which time her boyfriend Mark went for a greasy fry up and had a sleep.

Following surgery Kerry had her teeth whitened and then she went on an all expenses paid trip to Marbella in Spain with lads magazine Zoo to pose for a sexy photoshoot. She was seen downing shots, and before Mark had to help her climb the stairs to bed she  had a go on the Karaoke machine and sang: "I'm pissed. I'm going to regret this in the morning."

The 28-year-old  mum of four who appears in supermarket Iceland's television adverts had ash blonde hair extensions to complete her transformation to pop blonde bombshell once again and she then stripped down to some sexy underwear for the photoshoot.

She said: "I'm so glad I had the surgery. It's completely changed my confidence and the way I feel. From that last episode of me giving birth to Max to now is ace." She added: "I'd like to say first of all it's been a big transformation and this has been the final thing for me to do, from a big fat cow to having surgery to crying to being happy to being a sex goddess."

During the MTV documentary, Kerry Katona: Whole Again, Kerry, who is a former cocaine user and has been accused of alcohol abuse in the past, was speaking in her bubbly northern accent and was not slurring her words like she did when she appeared on This Morning last week, which she blamed on prescribed medication she had taken the night before.
