Nelly Furtado has revealed she secretly got married three months ago

The chart topping star confirmed she tied the know with Cuban sound engineer Demacio "Demo" Castellon over the summer.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada TV show, Furtado admitted: "We got married July 19th," I love it. It's a nice phase of my life."

Furtado, 29, recently sported a new diamond ring out and about in Miami, sparking rumors that she had tied the knot in a secret ceremony.

She did not give details of the wedding but added: " I just feel kind of free and relaxed and more in tune with trying not to be so stressed out. I'm trying to enjoy things a little more. I'm happy ... I'm excited about the future."

The newlyweds worked together on her 2006 album, Loose and were engaged last year. Candian born Furtado gave birth to a daughter, Nevis, in 2003 whose father is DJ Jasper Gahunia.
