Bee Gees star Robin Gibb in airport stand-off

Former BEE GEES star ROBIN GIBB missed a flight to Las Vegas after reportedly refusing to let security staff at a London airport search his bag.
 
The musician was due to fly from London Gatwick to the gambling Mecca on Friday (21Nov08) morning but was not allowed to board the plane after failing to co-operate with Virgin Atlantic security staff, according to a British tabloid.
 
Gibb was reportedly stopped in the departure lounge for a random spot check on hand luggage - but refused to let officials see the contents of his bag, culminating in a tense stand-off.
 
The 58-year-old music legend chose to miss his flight, leaving security staff to escort him back out of the airport.

 A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "It was all very odd. No one could understand what his problem was. He was fairly calm and not ranting. He just seemed annoyed at being singled out."
