well to be perfectly honest according to what I wad taught when i was studying law assualt is not the physical act it is the mental and battery is the physical so it would have most probably if it happened a squabble. Also it's up to the "victims" to prove that he has the Acteus Reus and the Mens Rea. Lastly I agree with Beau Locks here which totally negates the fact that I am even posting this.

I hope things are not that bad for this chap and that this matter can be resolved amicably. Sometimes family can have your best interest at heart - without consulting you first!

What could he have done that was so bad? Or was he provoked? In this country, people seem to have a blank cheque to provoke you with impunity or even make outrageous accusations without question. My now Ex (thank God!) and father of my children decided to accuse me of threatening to 'smash' someone's face in - language that I would not use - plus wrote and signed a police statement, saying that we had not spoken, let alone related to me, since the birth our son, when in fact he had asked me to 'retry' our relationship about two weeks prior to make his accusation. Weeks after his claim, he was ringing me up at 4.00 in the morning telling me how much he missed me. (The police did not think this was enough cause for concern - whilst my friends and family felt utterly SCARED for my wellbeing. Sometimes your worse enemies are the very ones that you love. A family squabble gets into the press, what about some real news, the number of real people in penuary, the number of house reposessions, Gordon Brown and company still refusing to tax the rich. Boris and his non achievement in assisting Londoners. Ed Balls and his American Examiners who will get paid for not doing what they were paid for. Rising unemploment and making the unemployed clean the streets, whilst convicted criminals can take action as it breaches their civil liberties, are the unemployed seen to be lower in status than career criminals? I do however like Matts comment!

Trying to be unbiased here coz I love Batman and am a fan of Bale, but looking at how dedicated he is to his roles, his focus and discipline, I find it difficult to believe he'd lose control and hit not one, but two people. Maybe it's just wishful thinking. Perhaps it was drink related. I'm skeptical though. I'm wondering what constitutes "assault" exactly, if he just slapped one of them it's hardly worth involving the law :p

This is probably a drink related fall out that has been blown out of all proportion as usual, because of who he is. Just let the police and the family sort it out, and let them get on with their lives. As families, we all fall out at sometime or another, and assault could be as minor as having a drink poured over you. Lets get all of the facts before another high profile person gets dragged through the mud for no real reason. However, that being said, if he physically assaulted either of the two females, then he is not a man, he would be a coward that deserves the same punishment as Joe Bloggs would in everyday life.
