Mariah Carey still young at heart in relationships

MARIAH CAREY is baffled by the media's fixation with her toyboy husband NICK CANNON - because she could never imagine herself with a "boring and bleak" older partner.
 
The singer, 39, married actor Cannon, 28, in April (08) after a whirlwind six-week romance - and she admits she is still fending off questions from the press about their decade-wide age gap.
 
But the star insists she is still very much young at heart - and would never again pair up with an older man after her failed marriage to music mogul Tommy Mottola, who was 20 years her senior.
 
Carey explains, "I don't see what the big deal is. Should I be with an old fuddy-duddy who would be boring and bleak? I have fun. It doesn't really matter to me. I've already dealt with someone who was older than me. I don't want to go back there. It's not about the age, it's just about inding the right person for you."
 
Carey and Mottola split in 1998 after five years of marriage.
