Hollywood star George Clooney admits watching his dad's bid for political power has scared him off his own political aspirations.

The Ocean's 11 star admits that he had long assumed he would one day run for office, following his own father's footsteps.

But he says he was horrified at seeing the mauling dad Nick got when he ran for Congress in 2004.

"I watched him get the crap beaten out of him, and realized how incompatible my personality is with the job," Clooney told a U.S. magazine
