Daniel Baldwin has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a car.

The actor - one of the clan of Baldwin brothers - was arrested on Wednesday after a friend reported his car stolen and said Baldwin had taken it.

Officers stopped him in Santa Monica, California, driving a white GMC Yukon.

He was taken to jail and booked on suspicion of Grand Theft Auto.

He was later released on $20,000 bail according to sheriffs at Orange County jail.

Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said: "The car belongs to an aquaintance of Mr Baldwin but he had no permission to take it."

It comes just three months after Baldwin was arrested after a high speed police chase,
The 46-year-old Homicide: Life on the Streets star was held after driving a rented car through the streets of Los Angeles at speeds reaching 80mph.

He later crashed the vehicle into two parked cars outside a strip mall. In April he was arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine - but no charges were ever brought against him.
