Anna Friel & David Thewlis' fiery first date

Sparks really flew between ANNA FRIEL and DAVID THEWLIS on their first date - a fire broke out at the actress' home as they spent the night together.
The British stars met on a plane to France's Cannes Film Festival in 1997, but didn't begin dating until 2001, when they were reunited at a mutual friend's dinner party.
And Friel admits Thewlis' first night at her home was incredibly heated - because they woke up to discovered flames destroying her lounge.
She says, "He came back to my house that night and we woke up to find the place on fire. It made such a mess of the living room we closed the door and stayed in the bedroom for the next three days. He moved in two days later and has never left in eight years."
