Party-loving pop superstar Britney Spears has admitted she needs to change her life - saying her New Year's resolution is "Just to take care of me more."

Britney has sparked alarm with her wild ways since splitting from husband Kevin Federline - being photographed without underwear and even being carried from a club after reports that she had collapsed.

Asked by U.S. TV if she had any New Year's resolutions, Spears, 25, replied: "Stop biting my nails" - then admitted: "Just to take care of me more."

She had earlier posted a message on her website defending her postsplit partying - but also admitting: "I probably did take my new found freedom a bit too far."

Laughing over photographs showing her panty-less, she laughed: "Anyway, thank God for Victoria Secrets' new underwear line! "I look forward to a new year, new music and a new me."
