Teri Hatcher no longer has to play Desperate Housewife in real life

The 42-year-old actress, who plays hapless Susan Mayer in the hit US drama, reveals she's "totally in love" and is set to follow in the footsteps of her small screen co-stars who are all married or engaged.

"I'm not single anymore,' gushed Hatcher, who went to the Golden Globes on the arm of director, Stephen Kay, on Monday. "I'm totally in love and it's fabulous."

Hatcher, who went through a bitter divorce from ex-hubby Jon Tenney two years ago, said of Kay:

"I will just say that he's the most beautiful human being on the planet." But speaking to US daytime entertainment show Extra on the red carpet, she admitted, "He doesn't want to be here!"

Kay, whose credits include the horror movie Boogieman and an episode of the TV show Friday Night Lights, previously dated Eva Longoria, who gave the pair her blessing.

When it was first revealed that Hatcher and Kay were dating, a spokesperson for Longoria said: "Eva and (fiancé) Tony Parker have never been happier together, and Eva wishes the same happiness for Teri."

Meanwhile asked if she was planning to walk down the aisle with Kay, she said: "Oh please. "I'm just happy to be happy. I'm always the last one."
