Robbie Williams compared himself to famously reclusive billionaire Howard Hughes. The former Take That star says he stays in rather than party at Hollywood hotspot since moving to the States. And at a party for the Golden Globes film and TV awards earlier this week, he told a US newspaper he is planning to stay in the US for good. He said: "I haven't been out - I've been Howard Hughes for the last four weeks. "This is my big evening." Robbie, 32, quit the UK several years ago to start a new life in Los Angeles away from constant media attention. He has failed to crack the US pop market - and has reportedly been seeking movie roles in a bid to move away from the music business. But he said he didn't have any advice for football ace David Beckham, who is set to move to LA with his family later this year when he becomes a player for the Los Angeles Galaxy. He said: "He's far more savvy than me. He should be giving me advice." Playboy Hughes' bizarre behaviour was charted in movie blockbuster The Aviator, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as the mega-rich engineer and industrialist. The tycoon, who died in 1976, would only talk to his second wife by telephone and eventually became a total recluse. |
