Anastacia has ditched her trademark glasses and cut off her long hair

The distinctive voiced singer, who now has a short curly bob, said: "I think it's a new record label, new management, I got married, you sort of hit a phase where you think 'why not'?"

Talking about her glasses, which she was famous for wearing, she said: "I so needed them. It was a necessary factor and I just got them lasered. I took off the glasses and got the surgery. No nonsense, it was easy and not a painful thing".

"By the way, people out there, do not try and find a bargain for your eyes. For your shoes, for a shirt, yes go for the bargain hunting, don't go for the bargain lasik surgery."

The singer said she donated a lot of glasses and sold them on eBay to raise money for breast cancer charities.

She said: "Now people are staring at me a lot more because they have never seen me without my glasses."

Anastacia said her husband Wayne Newton, who she married in April last year, proposed when she went for a manicure.

She added that her bodyguard husband is metrosexual and said: "Any man who is going to be loving up to me has got to have nice nails and toes."

The American, who has battled breast cancer, said: "Do I feel different being married? Yes I do. I completely feel, I guess, peaceful."
