Michael Jackson tickets reach $10,000

Tickets for MICHAEL JACKSON's comeback gigs are changing hands on the internet for nearly $10,000 (£6,900) - just hours after going on sale.
 
The Thriller hitmaker announced his return to the stage last week (05Mar09) at a press conference in London, unveiling a residency of 10 shows at the city's O2 Arena in July (09).
 
More than a million people registered to buy tickets and when pre-sale seats were made available on Wednesday (11Mar09), they were snapped up within minutes - prompting the singer to more than double his run and extend the residency until September (09).
 
The tickets - which go on sale to the general public on Friday (13Mar09) - are expected to fully sell out and are already being offered up on the internet, with one pair of seats on auction website eBay reaching $9,999.99 (£6,896).
 
The shows currently stretch from 8 July (09) until mid September (09), with more dates expected to be announced shortly.
 
Jackson hasn't played a full concert since 2001 and insists these shows will be his last in London.
