The Dark Knight smashes another record
6 Aug 2008
THE DARK KNIGHT has shattered yet another US box office record after passing the $400 million (£200 million) mark in just 18 days.
Shrek 2 previously held the record by taking $400 million in 43 days in 2004 - and now the Batman Begins sequel has hit the target in less than half the time.
The action-packed superhero film is the eighth biggest film ever and is on course to steal the box office crown from Titanic, which made $600 million (£300 million) at the U.S. box office.
In its first 18 days, Titanic made $160.5 million (£80.25 million).
