Newly Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria says she's not pregnant - she's just fat.

The 33-year-old actress revealed she put on five pounds in weight over the summer, which caused the baby rumours to start.

"I'm just fat," she told US chat show host Jay Leno, when he asked if she was expecting. Do I look pregnant?" she asked.

"You look alright to me love," fellow Tonight Show guest Russell Brand grinned.

Blogs and magazines began suggesting Longoria could be pregnant after she was pictured in flowing dresses, with her stomach looking larger than usual.

But the TV star, who wore a figure-hugging black and cream dress for her chat show appearance, put it down to weight gain.

"I gained like five pounds over the summer so instead of a size zero I'm like a size one now," she laughed. I went up a jeans size, I went up a size in everything."

Longoria said although she was not currently pregnant, she did want a large family in the future.

"I want to have tons of children," she said. I'm cool if I do - I'm just not pregnant right now. I came from a family of four, so I'd like that number. I'd like as many as God will give me - but I'm going to stop at four."
